Lieutenant Timothy Talbott

Angola, New York

Timothy Talbott is a twenty-two-year-old sawmill laborer from Angola, New York. He comes from a long line of men who served their country from the Revolutionary war onward. Each brought home a story about courage and leadership that has been shared with the next generation.

Timothy’s childhood was like most in his region. He attended school until he was twelve and then joined his father at the sawmill during the greatest depths of the depression. His first jobs revolved around cleaning up scraps or sweeping up debris. Timothy took on bigger roles like sawing when he grew into a man, but the pay never seemed to match the effort. No matter how little his family had, Timothy’s mother always found a way to have a hearty meal when they returned home at the end of the day.

After church on Sundays, Timothy snuck into The Angola to watch the afternoon matinee picture. His favorite pictures were the swashbuckling kind with handsome heroes and sinister villains. His favorite actor was Monroe Salisbury who was also born in Angola and played several of Timothy’s favorite heroes.

Timothy jumped at the chance when America was thrust into World War 2 to become an adventurer like his favorite actor and a hero like his ancestors.
